Organic School Project
Join the lunch line of three special schools in Chicago, and you might be surprised by the food that fills your tray. This meal is made from scratch, the recipes are student-approved, and the ingredients are picked fresh from the schoolyard.
The Organic School Project is helping to make this a reality – but it’s the students that will make the program succeed. In the classroom and in the garden they learn about nutrition. In the cafeteria, they have the opportunity to make more mindful choices about what they eat.
Chicago is the nation’s third largest school district. If we can do it here, you can bring this model back to your own cafeterias.
